i want to know about consideration for feature sequence in machining using CNC milling?
-feature like pocket, face, contour, drilling
-which sequence or order is the best way to machining first?
-what are the consideration to chose the best order or sequence?why?
-any journal, article, or prove?
You need to get hold of a programming manual for a CNC machine. It will tell you about fixturing (how you hold the job down), tooling and the process generally. You could talk to a CNC production engineer who is responsible for the production of a part and ask him about the processes involved in the final part
Hope this helps
I would like to know what the average weight is for an average machine in a machine tool shop?
Know this is difficult – I was thinking of a CNC lathe or something like it – would it be one ton, two? I need to calculate shipping based on weight – I can visualise the size but not weight
I’m a CNC machinist, hard to say an average, depending on lathe or mill, big or small, I run mazak quik turns, which i think are about 3000 pounds.
I’ve worked on other lathes that were in the 5000 & 6000 range.
I’ve also worked on mills that were 10 – 15000 pounds.
If you know the make and model of the machine, maybe do a google search for the mfg. and check their dimensions and weight.
In cnc milling, what does it mean when motors are in parallel?
I need more torque from the motors in my cnc machine and can only go up to 3 amps. What does it mean when the motors are in series or parallel or unipolar?
CNC motors are stepping motors
if wired in parallel they will step equally
they cannot be wired in series!
unipolar and bipolar is something else
it relates to the driver and the winding of he motors
to get more torque you need a bigger motor and bigger driver
Or to gear down!

where can i find rental space for a cnc manufacturing shop?
there will be inspection equipment and cnc machines involved
Plenty of places, probably could check the paper or craigslist, a Realtor would know. Is their an industrial park nearby, that would be a good place to check and do a drive by. Look in the phone book to see where similar businesses are located.
I couple of important things will be to have 3 phase power and make sure you won’t have any zoning problems.
i want to know..why different cutting path using cnc milling will produce different total time?
-CNC MIlling Machine
-different cutting path will produce different total time to fabricate
-which cutting path will make the fastest time to fabricate?
As previously said, straight lines are the shortest distance, so it takes less time. Also, complicated or round shapes need more acceleration or declaration times, thus making them longer. Wasted time and programming may also come into play. You may want to consider stronger/better cutters, to take more material off, to reduce the time is cuts. This does not work for everything, but in most cases, it’s a better way to go, I hope this helps. I also suggest taking all of the replays, and the advise, and consider they are all good points.

CNC Basics E-Course 4 | CAM | Learn CAM Video | CAD/CAM …
Here on the 4th day we talk about CAM. CAM stands for Computer Aided Manufacturing. During the CAM step of the CNC Process we use software to define how our CNC Machine should move.
There are a number of CAM Software packages on the market. They range from the inexpensive to expensive. Much of the cost depends on the number of Axis’s that the CAM Software has.
With the CAM Software we define things like stock, location, tooling, feed and speeds and the post processor we will use.
The post processor is very specific to our CNC Machine. It outputs g-code. We use the G-Code program in our control software next.
Tomorrow’s Lesson is CNC Control.

CNC to Art Video Series Video 7:
This is the CNC Video series on how to take an image to a CNC File. This process is one that many CNC Users want to know, but there is not much info on. Here is your chance to get the inside scoop.
For more information, please go to: http://www.cncinformation.com
We have converted our image and now it is time to clean it up and export it out. First we take a look at the image for defects. We find a few and use the Illustrator weld tool to get rid of them.
Next we export the image out as a dxf file. DXF Files are common currency between CAD Programs.
When we export, we go with the oldest type of DXF File available. I do it that way because I find it makes a simpler file that virtually any CAD Program can open and use.
Next we go into our CAD Program to resize our file to the proper dimensions.

NURBS Machining with EMC2 on a Proxxon MF70 CNC
My Proxxon MF70 CNC machining a NURBS made Tux using a modified version of EMC2. Nurbs are defined in the part-program using new G-codes G5.2 and G5.3, and are interpolated using biarcs tangents each other. This allows higher machining speeds than the conventional short segments interpolation. Also, the part-program is made by NURBS blocks so, for example, the program for Tux is 400 lines, using segments it would be thousands of lines.
My Proxxon MF70 has a max speed of 100 mm/min and this is what is shown in the video. Of course higher machining speed can be achieved on a faster machine.

CNC Basics E-Course 3 | CAD | Learn CAD Video | CAD/CAM Tips
In this CNC Basics Video we go over CAD. CAD Stands for Computer Aided Design. During the CAD step we take our initial design and translate it into the computer. We do this CNC Step so we can change the design, resize it, save it, transfer it to someone else, etc. Recording our CNC Design into CAD gives us flexibility.
During CAD we learn we first design parts, then assemblies, then groups, then machines. We also learn there are different types of CAD Software. 2D, 2.5D and 3D. These types also come in different software packages from inexpensive to expensive. You can spend up to the sky if you want.
The trick is to match the CAD Software Capabilites with your CNC Needs. You don’t need high power 3D Modeling CAD if you make simple parts day in and day out.
Tomorrow’s lesson is CAM. Computer Aided Manufacturing.

HoneyBee King 2 CNC head and tail setup tips/indoor flight test
Here is my 7-8th flight, real flight- I have had about 2-3 weeks at about 3 days/wk of pre-flight calibration and ground lessons. I got the heli in mid December of 08, and I started with RADD’s school of rotary flight about new year’s. It’s actually quite good for building self-confidence…still, when you finally get the bird in the air it’s hard not to your pants at the very second of unintended movement, especially if you are inside. Anyhow, thanks to G3/G4 and RADD I haven’t crashed once so far. I also, thanks to taking it slow, had found a number of small errors in design I think, and things that just need to be kept aware of and check before and after each flight. I had to do my own legwork on this, and I have yet to see the problems addressed in video form, though if you dig hard enough alot of the answers can be found deep in the RC forums of various sites. Here I will relay the benefit of my noob knowledge. I would urge anyone entering the hobby to use this heli as the first full 3d heli- when you are ready for it. It is inexpensive compared to others but it is very well built and from what I hear better all around than Walkeras or other small $100-$150 helis. Put a HH gyro on here and get these purple upgrades and Brushless and ESC and its a pretty awesome little heli. I have never flown any other heli’s of this size, but I feel confident in saying that this is a great heli for learning 3d with. Like I said, if you never flew anything or simulated it may not be a good idea to splurge on this heli, and if by chance you do you SHOULD AT LEAST follow RADD’s school of flight, and it will keep you from wrecking on your first day out, which always blows. Happy flying!

cnc machine ? breaking cutters need help ? help with enroute software?
has anyone got a shop sabre cnc machine or a wood cutting cnc machine? keep breaking cutters , any guides or help with speed and depths for cutting wood etc any help or advice greatfully recieved, also enroute software help needed
Start with good bits (not "Made in China")
can you give me an example for the part using cnc milling machine?
industrial part like automotive or anything
A Cylinder head is a typical and very simple example in Automotive where All machining operations are done on a CNC Milling machine or a CNC machining center except for honing operations (only if necessary). Most of the non cylindrical automotive parts which have to be machined are machined on a CNC MIlling Machine.
What is the Difference between CNC and CNC Lathe?
Is one newer than the other and does one work differently than the other
CNC simply mean computer numerical control, that can be any system that uses computer numerical control, when you add lathe to the end then that means computer numerical control-lathe. For a list of machines other than Lathes that use CNC controls, you should try wikipedia, I will link it below

CNC – Engraving the school logo into a laptop
Tired of using those expensive little etch-on stickers for safety – We now present to you a solution that not only pays of each time you use it, but can do much more damage.
Don’t mind the small pause after the first drilling, I was just a bit careful with the drill depth and thus had to move the 0 point of the Z axis coordinate system a bit further down.

I have Autodesk Inventor 11 how do i convert a part to G-code?
I have Autodesk Inventor 11 and I’m in the process of building a CNC router. I have software to run the CNC but it uses .DFX files or something like that.
My question is how I get a part that I made in Autodesk to the CNC program. Any help would be great. I’m only 16 and do not have formal training in this stuff. I am a wiz when it comes to using Autodesk Though. And my CNC is really cool it has a cutting area of 12” x 10” x 4”. But none of these maters if I can’t get the part loaded into the machine.
Adam, I got a free copy from Autodesk. After taking this pre engineering class my sophomore year. They thought it would be nice for everyone to have a copy. Luckily I have a bad ass computer to run it on. To answer your question, I don’t know where you could buy it but I here its expensive.
I do not know really, do u know where I can buy autodesk inventer 11 please reply ASAP.
CNC(computer numerical control)?
Does anybody have any info about CNC? like how much a CNC job would pay? what type of schooling? I already know it is used mainly in manufacturing in machines like Mills, punch presses, lasers, and water jets. I am new to it and would like some info from somebody with experience.
It all depends on what kind of CNC work you intend on doing. Simply operating a CNC machine doesn’t really require any experience. I operated one for a few years straight after finishing school.
If you want to get into programming CNC and once off projects then a technical qualification such as an engineering diploma or an apprenticeship as a toolmaker would be necessary.
As far as pay goes starting salary isn’t great, pretty much minimum wage if you have no other qualification.
cnc lathes and mills are used for what exactly? any chance this type of craftsmanship being replaced by tech?
I am a CNC machinist. CNC Lathes can be used to produce anything a manual lathe can. This is also true of CNC lathes.
CNC machines are much more economical to use than their manual counterparts (at least for high-volume production) due to their repeatability, their lower per-piece cost, their ability to be left unattended, and their ease of control. Once programmed and debugged, a CNC lathe or mill can theoretically produce millions of identical pieces, provided the cutting tools (Titanium-carbide inserts on tool steel cutting tools) are maintained.
By the way, the lathe is the only tool that can be used to reproduce itself.
Tour of my NYC machine and metal fabrication shop
A video tour of my NYC apartment machine shop and fabrication shop. This is my hobby shop which features a CNC TAIG mill, a 7×14 manual mini-lathe, a Di-acro shear, finger brake and notcher, and various other equipment (bandsaw, grinder, buffer, etc).
I have always learned a lot while touring other people’s shops and hope that folks might see and learn something from this.
